Seeking Justice for Uncle Jimmy
Our friend and neighbor, Lindsey Knapp, is a dedicated advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, veterans, and survivors of violence, is now fighting a deeply personal battle. After publicly sharing texts and audio recordings surrounding the suspicious death of her brother, Navy veteran "Uncle Jimmy," and his warnings about the Ku Klux Klan, Lindsey is now being sued for defamation.
Jimmy, who once showed up in a rainbow tutu to protect a local drag event from threats, died just weeks after expressing concern for his safety and taking out a protective order. Despite repeated efforts, law enforcement has declined to investigate.
Now, Lindsey is asking for help — not just for legal support, but to protect the right to speak truth to power.
At Chatham Pride, we believe in the power of community — and in protecting the voices that stand up for justice, even when it’s hard. Please consider supporting this vital cause, sharing Lindsey’s story, or simply holding space for her in your heart.

Blue Ridge Pride
We are heartbroken for the people of western North Carolina impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Helene. LGBTQ+ individuals are often at especially high risk in the aftermath of natural disasters, and Chatham Pride stands in solidarity with our regional counterparts responding to the overwhelming need. If you are able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Hurricane Helene Recovery Fund, organized by our friends at Blue Ridge Pride.
